The Summer Land Steward will assist with all aspects of conservation land stewardship for Buzzards Bay Coalition and Mattapoisett Land Trust. This will ensure that the natural resources on the properties are protected, and the public is able to safely enjoy the properties.

The position is a full-time position that will run from June to August (400 hours total).  The successful candidate will work with the Coalition’s Watershed Protection Team and the Mattapoisett Land Trust to fulfill all organizations’ land management needs. The ideal candidate will have situational judgement, creativity, and diplomatic communication skills strong work ethic, field skills, and passion for the environment.  We seek someone with an educational background, experience, and interest in conservation land management. 

The position is currently based out of the Coalition’s Marion facility and the Mattapoisett Land Trust office. Conservation lands are located throughout the Buzzards Bay watershed with a primary focus on the Rochester, Acushnet, Mattapoisett, Fairhaven, and Wareham areas.

Work is at the direction of BBC’s Land Stewardship Director and Land Stewardship Manager, and MLT’s Operations Manager.
