DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position participates in field survey teams engaged in advanced technical work which will require you to operate manual and electronic equipment to collect surveying data for preliminary, construction, final, or other related surveys for engineering purposes. You will make independent field decisions for the location and recording of controlling points and topography points, communicate with other field workers, and act as a lead worker assisting the team’s supervisor. Work also involves performing trigonometric and algebraic calculations, preparing field sketches and notes, and rechecking the work of others. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on an ad hoc basis, depending on project assignments. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,890 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Engineering Technician; or
- Three years of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments; or
- One year of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments, and an associate's degree in surveying, drafting, design, civil or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
Condition of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid PA Class C non-commercial driver's license.
