Urban Soil Health Specialist – Northwest Indiana
Do you have a passion for natural resources, conservation, and small-scale agriculture? Do you enjoy working with diverse stakeholders to advance a common goal? Do you want a hybrid work environment with local travel for meetings, events, on-farm visits and field days, and computer work and formal educational presentations?
Location: The Urban Soil Health Program seeks an Urban Soil Health Specialist to cover 22 counties in Northwest Indiana, based out of Lafayette or central to the Northwest region.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
The ideal candidate is highly motivated to serve urban and small-scale farmers to implement soil health practices and work closely with Indiana’s conservation agencies. They are eager to travel to work with multiple stakeholders and do education and outreach. They are independently motivated with strong teamwork and collaboration skills. They ideally have on-farm experience on diversified farms.
