Watershed Project Manager for "Smart Soils Initiative"

We seek technology-minded, agricultural problem-solvers who are ready to integrate their knowledge of agronomy and soil health with remote sensing applications. The Watershed Project Manager of the "Smart Soils Initiative" connects producers with technology to inform production. Using both drone imagery and static soil moisture sensors, this project manager provides growers with real-time data on plant health and production indicators. The successful individual will join a dynamic group of young scientists who work both in the office and in the field with producers to facilitate successful ROI alongside maximized soil health. Active engagement with the community through outreach and education plays a large role in weekly work. This position is one of several grant-funded personnel in the Allen County Soil and Water Conservation District, working closely with Indiana Dept. of Agriculture (ISDA), National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), as well as other conservation partners, including Urban Soil Health, Department of Natural Resources, and watershed groups.
