The incumbent will assist with public lands planning for management of habitat and infrastructure on Wildlife Management Areas (WMA). This intern will work on conservation planning on WMA Work Units to guide staff in 3-year planning blocks to improve efficiency of management actions on WMAs, similar for 3-year infrastructure plans as well. The successful intern will gain experience in annual planning for selected habitat regimes across the entire inventory of DWR public lands. The mentor and Regional L&A Managers will work closely with the intern to best ensure thoughtful, consistent planning and implementation will take place.

Minimum Qualifications
- Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and be enrolled as a college undergraduate or graduate, for the fall 2025 semester;
- Must currently be authorized to work in the United States, per U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services requirements (www.uscis.gov/I-9);
- Have a valid driver's license;
- Minimum GPA of 2.8 and be able to provide official college/university documentation of current GPA;
- roficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel);
- Able to work independently, while following supervisor’s instructions and guidance; and
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro
Additional Considerations
- Prior experience volunteering and/or working for a conservation or wildlife organization;
- Working knowledge of AcrGIS Pro preferred.
