DEPARTMENT: Natural Resources- Wildlife
JOB SUMMARY: The Wildlife technician will assist with all aspects of the beaver project, including trapping, handling, and release, environmental monitoring, site assessment, and data collection, management, and analysis. Primary duties will consist of the safe and humane handling, husbandry and transport of wild beavers and collecting data in remote areas of the Snohomish and Stillaguamish Watersheds in Western Washington. We seek highly motivated candidates with field-based experience that are pursuing a career in wildlife management or other natural resources fields.
The Seasonal Wildlife Technician is a full-time, six (6) month contracted position working occasional weekends and 10-12-hour days. Working early morning and into the evening, on occasion.
COMPENSATION: $23.25 hr.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Completed or pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in an Environmental field with at least two years of completed coursework related to Wildlife Biology, Habitat Restoration, Aquatic Ecosystems, or Natural Resources. *Transcripts required
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Six (6) months Experience in environmental or ecological field work
- Six (6) months Experience in data collection, management, and analysis
- Six (6) months Experience in animal trapping, handling, and husbandry. Preferred
- Six (6) months Experience in Pacific Northwest ecosystems, flora and fauna ID. Preferred
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
- WA State Driver’s License.
- Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulation (Abstract Required)
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a seasonal contracted position up to six (6) months.
