What you get to do:
- Facilitate open communication between management and all members of the department, making them aware of all daily priorities and changes with responsibility for information exchange follow-up
- Develop behavioral skills of all members of the training department
- Teach husbandry procedures, training methods, and safety guidelines through active participation
- Teach awareness of stage presence; show performance and guest interaction through active participation
- Take an active role in both concept and design of new animal shows, working in conjunction with Entertainment and other departments as necessary
- Demonstrate guest service skills at the highest level
- Assist in the development and presentation of skills focused seminars and training
What it takes to succeed:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have at least 5 years relevant experience
- Have at least 2 years experience at Senior level and “exceeds” rating on previous two annual appraisals
- Be SCUBA certified and be able to complete a dive physical and annual swim test
- Be able to complete provided CPR and lifeguard training/certification
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to swim and work in/around water
- Have a valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain a company driver’s license
- Be able to stand for long periods of time
- Be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds
- Flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Biology or a related field preferred
- 5 years guest service experience preferred
As a 365 day/year operation, candidates must be available to work varying shifts/hours to support year-round operating needs. This may include working opening, mid-day, closing shifts, weekends and holidays.
